Broadband Phone Service can be used anywhere you have access to land based high speed Internet service.
It is not recommended that you use your Broadband Phone Service on satellite based high-speed Internet service.
Because this service is so portable, some interesting
applications come to mind:
- You can take the service with you. If you travel a lot, bring your VOIP box.
You can make or receive calls anywhere you have access to the high speed Internet.
- If you support out of country US missionaries, think about giving them this
service. They would probably greatly appreciate being able to call friends, family and supporters at no
cost. And, don’t forget, they can be called as if they were in the US. As long as they have access to high speed Internet, they are ready
for the service. Obviously, if they are in the bush, this might not be appropriate.
- Canada or Mexico based businesses can buy business plans that would allow them to
have a US phone number or a US toll free number that they can answer in Canada or Mexico. It’s like opening an office in the US.
- If you move across the state or across the country, take you VOIP box with you. Long time friends can still
call you at the same number they have been using. And, if their calls were local before, they still will be local no matter where you move.
- If you live in Canada or Mexico and want a US phone number or a US phone line to
make calls to the US, you become a customer of any of the broadband phone providers we profile and have your US phone number and line.
